BELLA LUNA CAFÉ & THE FRAME SHOP GALLERY ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR GROWTH AT BRADLEY FAIR
(WICHITA, KS) – Growth continues for Bradley Fair stores and restaurants with the announcement that The Frame Shop Gallery and Bella Luna Café will increase their presence at the center. According to Cathy Erickson, vice president of Laham Development, developer of Bradley Fair, work will begin immediately on the two projects with completion later this summer.
Wichita's longtime customer picture framing business, The Frame Shop Gallery will move from its present location in Bradley Fair to space between Bella Luna and Sami Halaseh Salon. Owned by JoAnn Millsap, the store offers one of Wichita's largest collections of art, framing and decorative accessories. The Frame Shop Gallery will increase its presence from 1,649-square-feet to 2,600-square-feet, expanding its home décor collection of unique and one-of-a-kind items. It will also feature a new technology called a Virtual Framer, designed to show customers their art with a variety of mats and frames on a digital display monitor.
Bella Luna will expand to the south of its current space adding 1,000-square-feet to its existing 2,100-square-feet. The popular Mediterranean restaurant owned by Matteo Taha opened at Bradley Fair in the spring of 2004 and features dine-in, carry out and catering. The restaurant remodeled the bar area and open kitchen in March. Once the overall expansion is complete, Bella Luna will offer seating for more than 100. Taha indicated that he will also add several new menu items at that time.
Frame Shop Gallery and Bella Luna Café expansions add to the list of other local retailers who have experienced success and growth at Bradley Fair. In June 2000 Randy Cooper's Fine Jewelry and Trio's both expanded at the center. Shoelaces underwent expansion in October 2001, and Sami Halaseh Salon added the Aveda Day Spa with new services and nearly tripled its space in the summer of 2003.
In addition to the Talbots move and the expansions to The Frame Shop Gallery and Bella Luna, work will begin soon on renovation to the original Bradley Fair building which opened in 1990. The project will include an updated façade and dramatic roof lines giving it a look that is consistent with other buildings in the center.
The relocation of Talbots will allow for two new stores to join Bradley Fair in the spaces now occupied by Talbots and Talbots Petite. Announcements on these new stores will be made in the coming months.
A project of Laham Development, Bradley Fair lifestyle center opened in November 1990. The 260,000-square-foot center includes 52 stores and restaurants. Among the focal points of the center is scenic Bradley Fair Plaza that features a year-round fountain, two island waterfalls, a lake, extensive landscaping and tiered seating. Throughout the summer Bradley Fair Plaza hosts complimentary Friday evening concerts showcasing a mix of national, regional, and local musical artists. Soon to enter their seventh season, the concerts will begin with the Wichita Grand Opera's “Encore Gala,” to be produced on the Bradley Fair Plaza June 3, 2006. Bradley Fair's annual Celebrate America event will be held on June 30. As in years past, the Celebrate America concert will be followed by a spectacular aerial fireworks display over Bradley Fair Lake.
Laham Development's other projects include Regency Lakes Shopping Center at 21st & Greenwich, Plazzio Retail and Entertainment Center at 13th & Greenwich, and Cornerstone development located north of 21st Street between 159th Street East and Andover Road.
Project architect for Bradley Fair is Shelden Architecture. J.P. Weigand & Sons is exclusive leasing agent. |
