THE FRESH MARKET TO OPEN IN BRADLEY FAIR
Contact: Cathy Erickson
(WICHITA, KS) – Laham Development has announced that The Fresh Market, a specialty grocery retailer, will open in Bradley Fair in the space previously occupied by Ultimate Electronics.
“We listen to our customers”, says Cathy Erickson, Vice President of Laham Development, “and one of the most frequent requests we hear, now that we have Sephora, is for a specialty market”.
The Fresh Market got its start in 1982 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Founded by Ray and Beverly Berry, The Fresh Market was the fulfillment of a dream; to develop a better grocery store that brought back the feeling of open European-style markets.
The Berry’s had one simple goal in mind: to bring friends, family and neighbors high-quality perishable products in a warm and friendly atmosphere with a high level of customer service. Over the last 29 years, The Fresh Market has grown in size and now has 110 stores in 21 states. The Wichita location will be the first store to open in the state of Kansas.
The Fresh Market provides a unique grocery shopping experience with stores that are designed to evoke old-world charm with a warm and inviting atmosphere, classical music, soft lighting, delightful aromas and superior customer service.
Taste, quality and value are always the primary considerations in selecting products for The Fresh Market. Their expert buyers search the world for the highest quality, best tasting products available. They also look to the communities where their stores are located to source the best local products, offering customers choices for the best tasting products from around the world and from their own hometowns.
With the addition of The Fresh Market, this will be Bradley Fair’s 52nd store. There will be 7,000 sq. ft. available next to The Fresh Market. “We have several interested groups for the space and hope to make an announcement early next year”, says Erickson.
A project of Laham Development, Bradley Fair lifestyle center opened in November 1990 and is celebrating its twentieth anniversary. The center features over 50 stores and restaurants, including specialty boutiques and prominent national retailers. The focal point of the center is a scenic open-air Plaza that features a year-round fountain, an island waterfall, and a lake. Bradley Fair hosts a number of community events on the Plaza, including outdoor summer concerts, opera performances and holiday carriage rides. Bradley Fair celebrated its 12th year of providing free summer concerts to the community in 2011. Autumn & Art at Bradley Fair, a fine arts fair featuring more than 90 local, regional and national artists, is held each year in September.
Christi Royse of J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc. handled the transaction for Bradley Fair. Andy Crimmins, with the Merrill Companies represented The Fresh Market.
