LAHAM DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCES NEW RESTAURANT FOR KELLOGG AND TOWNE EAST MALL DRIVE

(WICHITA, KS) – Laham Development has announced the first restaurant for their new development at the corner of Kellogg and Towne East Mall Drive. LongHorn Steakhouse has signed a lease for the 68,000 s.f. corner parcel, and has commenced construction on their building. The announcement was made by Cathy Erickson, Vice-President of Laham Development.
Laham Development purchased the 6 acre parcel from the City of Wichita in 2011 with plans to develop the site for retail, restaurant and hotel uses. In addition to LongHorn, Erickson says the company has received strong interest from various groups for the remaining sites.
BJ’s Brewhouse is currently under construction on the corner of Kellogg and Rock Road. Located between BJ’s and the new LongHorn is Old Chicago.
LongHorn anticipates that the new restaurant will open in late September 2012. The chain, which operates more than 380 restaurants in 35 states and employs 20,000 people, expects to hire team members from the surrounding area. The 6,200 sq. ft. restaurant will employ up to 80 team members and seat more than 240 guests. This will be the second Wichita location for LongHorn.
Laham Development’s other projects include Bradley Fair, a 280,000 square foot lifestyle shopping center and Wilson Estates, a 320 acre master-planned community with Ritchie Development. Bradley Fair opened in November 1990. The lifestyle center features more than 50 stores and restaurants, including specialty boutiques and prominent national retailers.
Laham Development’s Regency Lakes, a 400,000 square foot shopping center at 21st Street and Greenwich Road, is anchored by Super Target, Cabela’s, World Market and the Hampton Inn & Suites. Plazzio Retail and Entertainment Center, located on the southeast corner of 13th and Greenwich Road, is anchored by the 20-screen Warren Theatre and The Alley indoor entertainment facility. Plazzio also includes the Marriott Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotels, along with multiple restaurants. Located on the northeast corner of 13th and Greenwich Road is Berkeley Square, home to the Hartman Oil office building, Regent Park Assisted Living & Memory Care, Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
