NEW SPRINGHILL SUITES ANNOUNCED AT PLAZZIO
(WICHITA, KS) – A.G. Holdings LLC, a Wichita hotelier has announced the location of their newest hotel, SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The hotel will be built at Plazzio retail and entertainment center, located on the southeast corner of Greenwich Road and 13th Street. The announcement was made by James E. Korroch, CEO of A.G. Holdings. Korroch and A.G. Holdings also own the Residence Inn by Marriott at Plazzio and the Courtyard by Marriott in Old Town.
The new 102 room hotel will feature rooms that are 25% larger than traditional hotel rooms, stylish décor and separate areas for sleeping, working/relaxing and food preparation. The SpringHill Suites brand is designed for enjoyment-oriented, upscale travelers, seeking more than a traditional hotel experience. The hotel will welcome visitors with an evening lounge area, oversized exercise area, indoor pool and a complimentary, fresh breakfast buffet. The hotel will also offer free Wi-Fi. Construction on the hotel will begin May 1, with the opening scheduled for spring 2009.
"Our Residence Inn at Plazzio has been open for four years and it has been an excellent location for us," said Korroch. "The close proximity of restaurants, the Warren Theatre and The Alley has made it an increasingly popular location." "The SpringHill Suites site is just east of our existing hotel, which will bring the same benefits of location and a natural synergy for our guests."
A project of Laham Development, Plazzio opened in 2002 with the Warren Theatre. In 2004, the opening of The Alley bowling and recreation center, led the way for the addition of B.G. Bolton's Grille and Bar, Sumo, Cheddar's Casual Café and Freddy's Frozen Custard restaurants. The announcement of SpringHill Suites leaves three remaining sites for restaurant and retail business.
Project architect for SpringHill Suites is Law Kingdon, Inc. and contractor is Key Construction, both of Wichita.
