GRENE VISION GROUP PLANS MOVE
TO WILSON ESTATES MEDICAL PARK

(Wichita, KS) – Grene Vision Group, LLC, a doctor-owned group of eye care professionals and one of the country’s largest eye care groups, announced plans today to relocate its original Wichita clinic to Wilson Estates Medical Park. The relocation will be part of a new 33-acre medical park being developed by Laham Development and Ritchie Associates, located south of 21st Street on Webb Road. The announcement was made by Melissa Cohlmia, spokesperson for Laham Development.

The move from its current location at 8020 E. Central is expected during late Spring 2003 and will encompass all aspects of Grene Vision Group’s eye care services including eye examinations, eyeglasses, contact lenses, and a full range of medical and surgical eye care. According to R. Bruce Grene, M.D., CEO, a major benefit to clients is the consolidation into one building of the group’s laser vision correction practices and aesthetics clinic, called GVG Aesthetics.

The new Grene Vision Group campus will include 30,000 square feet of space within a two-story Mediterranean style building, housing six doctors and 18 eye examination rooms. The new facility more than doubles the size of the optical shop and its frame selection.

GVG Aesthetics focuses upon medical and surgical enhancements to restore a more youthful appearance to the eyelids and face. Treatments include in-house laser treatments such as
N-Litetm laser collagen replenishment, medical microdermabrasion, Botox therapy; and cosmetic eyelid surgery. This unique program is directed by Samuel W. Amstutz, M.D., a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship-trained in oculoplastic surgery, and staffed by Victoria L. Jacob, COA, facial aesthetic coordinator.

“Our clients will benefit greatly from the convenience of a single location, and we expect to achieve better staff efficiencies as well,” said Grene. “Beyond that, we are excited to relocate to a beautiful new medical park in an area that’s quickly becoming Wichita’s premier medical corridor.”

George E. Laham, II, of Laham Development, developers of Wilson Estates Medical Park, noted that the addition of Grene Vision Group will further solidify the project’s mission. “We are extremely excited to have Grene Vision Group locate to Wilson Estates Medical Park,” said Laham. “Bruce Grene, his staff and all his physician groups have a reputation for excellence in both service and expertise. Their presence at the Medical Park will reinforce our goal of creating a patient-centered environment, providing quality health care to the Wichita community.”

Grene Vision Group currently offers 33 eye care professionals in 19 Kansas locations, including 22 optometrists and 11 ophthalmologists. In addition to six locations in Wichita, it has offices in Andover, Anthony, Augusta, Chanute, Derby, El Dorado, Fredonia,
Hesston, Hillsboro, Wellington, Winfield and Yates Center. Grene Vision Group surgeons also provide satellite medical and surgical services in 14 Kansas communities: Anthony, Arkansas City, Chanute, Derby, El Dorado, Eureka, Fredonia, Hays, Hesston, Hillsboro, Kingman, Pratt, Wellington and Winfield.

Established in 1993, Grene Vision Group has approximately 240 doctors and staff statewide. The group’s services encompass nearly all eye specialties, including primary care optometry, laser vision correction and other refractive surgery procedures, pediatric ophthalmology, pediatric and adult strabismus surgery, cataract and implant surgery, corneal transplantation, surgery for diseases of the vitreous and retina, oculoplastic surgery and treatment for glaucoma, cornea and external disease, eye trauma, tear duct and orbital disorders.

Designed for state-of-the-art healthcare and convenience, Wilson Estates Medical Park will include up to 220,000 square feet of offices and as many as 16 buildings amid a spacious, campus-style setting offering an array of healthcare services. In keeping with the development’s patient-centered focus, each building in Wilson Estates Medical Park will be visible from a single loop drive, making all medical offices accessible from one central roadway. A traffic signal will be installed at Wilson Estates Parkway and Webb Road.

Wilson Estates Medical Park will feature abundant green space and doorside parking, and will reflect the distinctive architectural style of Bradley Fair at Wilson Estates with additional masonry
detailing. Strategically located near K-96 Expressway and the I-35 Andover Turnpike, Wilson Estates Medical Park will be minutes from fast-growing northeast Wichita neighborhoods, Bradley Fair shopping center, the Hilton Garden Inn, and offices such as Wilson Estates Office Park and Legacy Park. Plans for the development were announced in March of this year.

Project architect for Wilson Estates Medical Park is Spangenberg Phillips. J.P. Weigand & Sons is the exclusive broker. Financing is provided by Intrust Bank and Fidelity Bank.
