CENTER FOR WOMEN'S HEALTH ANNOUNCES MOVE TO WILSON ESTATES MEDICAL PARK
New Offices Being Designed with Women in Mind
(Wichita, KS) – Wichita’s longest-established all-female obstetrics and gynecological (OB/GYN) practice has announced plans to build new offices at Wilson Estates Medical Park. The Center for Women’s Health of Wichita which includes Sharon Breit, MD, Karen Strecker, MD and Valerie Drake-Albert, MD, has purchased 55,000-square-feet of land and will break ground in March on a new building. Wilson Estates Medical Park is located just south of 21st Street along Webb Road.
Currently at 1837 N. Rock Road Court, the new Center for Women’s Health office is slated to open this fall. According to Dan Breit, project manager, the building will include 9,500-square-feet, making it almost twice the size of the group’s current office. Featuring Mediterranean-style architecture to complement existing offices within the medical park, The Center will incorporate a variety of design elements that will enhance its appeal to women and be a departure from the traditional physician’s office environment.
The building’s entry will be set into a rounded turret with a vaulted ceiling that opens onto a spacious lobby. The lobby will feature a stone fireplace, coffee/tea refreshment center, and several smaller, more intimate waiting areas. Furnishings throughout will incorporate area rugs, upholstered furniture, armoires, fresh flowers and architectural features to create an environment that is warm and comfortable. The building is being constructed with growth in mind, allowing for four physician offices and ample patient support areas. Architectural Innovations, LLC is project architect. General contractor is Dondlinger Construction.
The Center for Women’s Health joins Grene Vision Group, Mid-America Orthopaedics, Oral & Maxillofacial Associates, Moeller Dermatology, Boynton Dental and Plastic Surgery Center at Wilson Estates Medical Park. In an adjacent Laham Development project, Legacy Park – Wilson Estates, Prairie View, the state’s largest private behavioral and mental health services provider, is building its new east Wichita office which is scheduled for a late 2006 opening.
Project architect for Wilson Estates Medical Park is Shelden Architecture. J.P. Weigand & Sons is the exclusive broker.
